Affiliate disclosure

This page explains how Pixelcraft App Development Corp. earns money from links, on this website and in the Styled app. We would rather over-explain this than have you wonder.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is an ordinary link to a retailer that carries a tag identifying us as the referrer. If you click one and go on to buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way. You are never charged more for arriving through us, and no part of any commission is added to your purchase.
Where these links appear
- On this website. Some articles in Style Edit may link to retailers. Where a page contains affiliate links, it says so on the page itself.
- In the Styled app. Where the app suggests specific products to buy, those links may be affiliate links. The app marks these clearly at the point where they appear.
Where a link is not an affiliate link, we do not pretend otherwise. Some of the retailers we mention have no affiliate arrangement with us at all.
What it does not influence
This is the part that matters, so we will be specific.
Styled recommends what to buy by analysing the wardrobe you have catalogued and identifying what it is missing — which combinations of clothes you cannot currently assemble, and which single addition would unlock the most. That analysis runs entirely on your own wardrobe. It happens before any product is looked up, and it has no access to commission rates, retailer relationships, or product availability.
Only once the app has decided what kind of garment would help does it look for real products that match. A product cannot cause a recommendation to appear, cannot remove one, and cannot change the order they are shown in. We built it this way deliberately, because a shopping recommendation that can be bought is worthless.
The same applies to our writing. We are not paid to feature any retailer or brand in Style Edit, and no retailer reviews our articles before publication.
Why we do it
Affiliate commission helps fund development of the Styled app. We think it is a more honest arrangement than the alternatives available to a small app studio — we do not sell advertising, we do not sell data, and we do not send your wardrobe to anyone.
